Villa Maria Winery in Marlborough is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and curious folk to join our Lab Team for the 2022 Harvest!
Come and learn the all important role of science and yeast in the winemaking process.
This busy fixed- term role is available from mid-February to the end of April sampling grapes and testing juice all along the journey from Vineyard to Finished Wine.
Our facility produces wines for the New Zealand brands Villa Maria, Vidal Estate, Esk Valley and Left Field, in a variety of different styles and varietals.
We are looking for 4 Vintage Lab Technicians to work with us for the 2022 Vintage.
Our tasks include:
- Maturity sampling of the grapes as they ripen
- Testing sugar levels of the picked grapes when they arrive at the winery
- Analysis involved in monitoring and tracking healthy ferments.
Previous winery and/or Lab experience is an asset, but so is passion, accuracy and an eagerness to learn.
We will provide training and the opportunity to be involved in a team focused on producing top quality New Zealand Wine.
